A bit of a change: Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND

I went and saw this last night and here are my thoughts on it.

As far as the movie goes, it was a pretty good movie, fun to watch.
As far as accuracy with the book, it wasn't really Alice in Wonderland, so I'm guess it's based more on Through The Looking Glass (the sequel to Alice in Wonderland) I know for a fact that Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, The Jabberwocky, and the Bandersnatch are from THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS.
As far as what I was expecting from this film. It was nothing like what I was expecting.
For starters I suppose that I was expecting Tim Burton's usual bizarre twist on things. I sort of forgot that Lewis Carrol's original Alice in Wonderland was such a trip that you really couldn't make it any stranger.
However I was a little disappointed
Johnny Depp's MAD HATTER really wasn't very mad. In fact, compared with Johnny Depp's WILLY WONKA he was pretty much sane, and definetly NOT as frightening.
The queen in Disney's cartoon is definetly better than Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen.
The caterpillar was actually pretty good.
The Cheshire Cat could have been a bit creepier, but he still made me sick to my stomach, so good job there.
The characters who I don't remember from reading Alice In Wonderland, were pretty good, but I haven't read Through The Looking Glass so I'm sure if any of them are in there or not...?
The jabberwocky was definetly not the scariest thing I've ever seen. IF it can TALK it's just not scary...sorry :(
